Update

Last few weeks I have been playing mostly mtts online, and havent made a single final table which is very disheartening. A combination of bad fortune and lapses in concentration in the odd mtt have really harmed chances of making alot of money.

I have been hitting the cash tables and turbo sngs to keep my roll steady and have cashed in several mtts on stars but any serious player is always looking to make the final 3 when you entere a tournament, those are the places that are lucrative.

The fields on stars are so big though, that winning these small $3/$5 rebuys are very long and very difficult, often with 2,000 runners. It's natural for one to question their ability when you're on a bad run, but considering Ive had a torrid few weeks my attitude hasnt been harmed and still have playing a solid game,I don't think im at my A game but im certainly not playing stupid. Hopefully , with a change of fortune a bit of patience and a good tournament result I will be back and running, confident as ever.

"Yes You Did" Poker Poker Poker

Same story , been doing at least 2 tourneys everyday last 3 or 4 days, done a deal heads up in a party poker mtt, cashing for $1,900 but apart from that no nice finishes. Alot of $100 here and $50 there etc.

Anyway, since i only been posting boring stuff lately I thought id tell of some important hands i played and my reasons for it.

#1 I pick up Q J os in sb late on in stars gtd mtt. Down to final 20 or so. I raise from the small blind to $48000, 3xbb. BB min riases, I am getting over 4-1 and call. Flop falls J 10 9. I check, and he moves in for something in region of $80,000. I have around $200,000 now. I know he has something strong that much is obvious. Lets say he has AA. The pot is around $230,000. And it costs me $80,000 which is around 2.8-1.And if he has AA, I am drawing to a K,Q,J,or 9. giving me 13 outs, so im a 52% chance of winning which is great odds. And its a definite call.

If he has AJ, which is possible but why the min riase? Then I have 2 less outs, so 11 outs or 44% chance of winning, again a call should be made even though I will be left with only $120,000 and the blinds being $8/16k.

If he has TTT, then I am drawing to a K or 9 which means i got 32% chance of winning. This one would be iffy, if he does have set i should mathematically fold here, cos i am only laid 2.8-1 not 3-1 but even still it wouldnt be terrible.

Then there KQ, i can only draw to a split pot, but then why would he min raise with KQ pre flop? If this is the case then a fold should definitely be made, but bearing in mind he moved all in on flop, and the min riase pre flop. i ruled this hand out completely.

Anyway, I made the crying call and he turned over AJos, which was ok i guess except I didnt improve.

I ll post some more hands next time after I return from nottingham. Ciso.
