Well ,since last post I havent really put in any online time, I went to nottingham for 2 nights played a 50 triplle chance which i finished like 13th followed by a 20 rebuy which I happily came 2nd/70 runners.
Me and Aelred both finalled , he came 5th, so we won 1,460 and cos of me "staking " him actually took 1360 of it, so thankfully I came away from the trip with some nice profit for which has made for a nice change.
I felt I played well, I really didnt catch many cards over the nights but still,cos its rebuy you can get out of the rebuy quite deep so it wasnt just all all all.
One hand that propelled my stack was a hand where i had A J and co raised , (blinds were quite big at this point) , i had a marginal situation as all 3 options were very viable, I chose to re raise all in , and he was quite committed , and called with A 10s, fortunatley i held and doubled up pretty much. I got it in a wee bit later with KK vs KQ which was nice. however 1 till the final my stack deminished somewhat and i headed to the final with only $47,000 , 532,000 in play. So i was in about 8th place. I played quite patient on the final table and a steal and few resteals built my stack handsomely. I kinda snuck into heads up aas i was the short stack, going into heads up i had 55,000 to his 500 or so. We raised pot every hand from sb, and finally i called with A 10, but his 89 paired up and i was gone. Still 2nd that night was maybe my strongest live result with respect to the quality of my cards ( which is quite key in one off mtts).

Anyway, I'm up for the week but down online cos of the odd rebuy that ive played half heartedly. Last night for instance i played the $10 rebuy on stars, and fell asleep 10 mins post rebuy , despited having over 21,000 chips I fell asleep! I checked this morning and i still came 189th lol out of 1400 .

Less expenses for the trip and loss to my account on stars my profit for the week isnt great but still , profit is profit.

Another week

Well, I played the million Gtd last night, i know $215 is an expensive buy in but I couldnt resist with such a nice pool, 4800 runners and top 675 cash, i finished 817th :( . Pushed with K Q from button with 11 x bb to be called by both blinds 66 and AA.
Its cool though, earlier in the day i put in about 40 mins of $5/$10 Limit hold em, and made $250 so that kinda paid for that.
Not a great week financially despite several cashes my midweek blunder in the cash games hurt my profit , So I ended the week with marignal profit. I stuck to my "plan" and withdrew the profit for the week which turned out to be $200, okay not great but profit is still profit. I learnt from the cash game not to go over my head (which i should know by now but eh) prolly would have ended the week with over $550 profit which would have been satisfactory. Anyway, I ll post on my next tournament.

Ok, im in my hotel room leavin for home again in few hours , thought id just sum up the last few days. Came to nottingham to do the triple chance and finished like 23rd, I started off well and felt i was playing good poker , then it happened - few hours in i lost interest and with 1200 invested re riased all in with 33 when small blind raised me , he had J J. I had 11500 in chips inc the bb, it wasnt a great move and i didnt even feel bad leaving the casino cos the pool wasnt amazing and i know i wasnt on top of my game.

I played a little online though later , played the $55k and cashed (not for much) , came like 73rd so i made a wee bit of profit then slept most of yesterday really. Which isnt good i know.
Then didnt get in any live , didnt feel like playing a crapshoot. So i dont the $11 rebuy on stars, the $35k a tournament i never really do. I came in 18th place for $440 which has boosted my roll back up to a reasonable amount and now i screwed up in the cash game other night hopefully i have learnt my lesson. I played a $30 sng just now and finished first for $135 and am currently playing some $3/$6 limit cash game. My roll before entering this game was sufficient enough to play and i thought id burn an hour or so seeing how my limit game is. Anyway World cup has started so i doubt i ll be playing as much as i should be , but that means i ll be all the more focused when i do. Hopefully good news to report next time.

Woke up earlier then usual today, which was good but then i ended up having a nap at like 10pm. I played the $55k again as i pretty much always do, I didnt rebuy much and I didnt cash tonight either. I busted out about 40 mins post rebuy and I never really had a stack to play with today so I wasnt annoyed or disapointed. In fact it meant i could give the cash games a shot and try at them since i haven't played them much lately.
I played a wee bit of the $1/$2 and didnt fare so great , i decided to do the $2/$4 no limit, not wise i know, dont have the roll for it on stars etc, but what the hell , i wanted to play a bit higher and maybe i could get my roll back up a bit as its been a down more then up since withdrawing on sunday.

Here are some hands from my cash game -

Jh9h, i limp after a limper , im on button. sb, tight guy riases to $20 pre flop. they fold to me, I should fold this for 5 xbb but i felt confident of 2 things, i could outplay this "rock", 2, If i did happen to hit a big hand,theres a reasonable chance he has a big hand himself that can pay me off. Anyway flop came bad for me really, Ks 10c 3c or something like that, he checks, which can give me licence to try and take it but on a K hi flop like that and the fact he didnt bet out really makes me give up on this pot, If i bet how much, will he throw away QQ or JJ etc even if i do bet, so i check. Turn Jd, he checks , i check again - here again is a place i can bet and i think mst would but any hand this guy riases $20 pre flop with has me beat here (hes too tight for 99), river is 4c, which bring the flush, and he leads out $12 , which really is small for the pot, I am really sure im beat however, either he has a hand like QQ or AQ for the nut striaght so i chuck away my hand and he shows A Q.

J 10 off, i limp, as does another, flop comes 8 9 K (2 spades). blinds check, as do i, limper fires out $8 into about 10/12, i re riase all in for $200 i think, and he passes and says K Q. I took a page out of doyles super system in that play, I could well have bet myself but i felt a check riase would get him to fold more hands then just a normal bet, then even if he calls me , i can win the hand something like 32% of the time.

Well, I left the cash game session down again, mentally im fine, i can take bad sessions and beats etc, I have played this game long enough to know already what its like and that I cant leave every session in profit. The worser news is that my stars roll has taken a dip and now I definitely cant play $2/$4 ( i shouldnt have been with $800 roll ) , so back to the $1/$2 games. I am pretty confident still I will get a cash or 2 in a stars mtt which will bring my roll back up, its no biggie really providing i continue to play well.
Later on today I am going down to nottingham to do the 50 triple chance , to get in some live play , aelred could do with the practice before scottish championships and im sure the pool will be lucrative enough to satisfy my strongest efforts. I ll post on how i do .

Since i didnt play really yesterday i thought id play the $55k tonight on stars, spent alot more then i usually do during the rebuy ( about $160), so i really needed to get a cash to make sure my roll was steady.
Few hours in I did have a nice stack , consistently in the top 30, but i knew I wasnt anywhere near the final table or even cashing yet. Then as we approached the final 135 to cash ,my cards went completely dry, and once everyone cashed most people are willing to gamble again like in the rebuy to give themselves a shot at a final table. So it was very difficult for me, I hovered around $120,000 for a long time when the blinds were going up and didnt really make any progress, however i snuck into the top 27 which meant i got some profit and finally finished 21st , I had 55 on the button , $295,000 ish in front of me and the blinds were $40,000 which meant there was like 75,000 in antes to be stolen , so i done the only thing i thought i could do , and pushed all in. the sb instantly re raised which i thought meant i was crushed , i can honestly say i was very happy to see when he turned over AcKc, as i was a slight favorite to win a $600,000 + pot which would surely see me through to the final table, however an Ace flopped and i was gone. I was in around 17th position out of the 21 left so i could have folded and tried to make a jump in cash, but imo it would be a very bad move, im content but also disapointed . I had 75k when we were down to 27 and pushed 2 hands in a row with no caller which gave me a shot then doubled through with Q Q vs K 10 and thought maybe my luck was in. Ah well, you got to win a 50/50 or 2 durin the tournament. $317 for my efforts, so really only $150 ish profit for 5 1/2 hrs play, not very nice really but at least my roll is in profit for the week again.

Okay , so I havent stuck to my plan rigidly but ive had a good week nonetheless. I just cashed 4/5 times in the $55k on stars and just played 40 mins of cash game and made a bit.
I said id withdraw surplus of $800 but since i already withdrew like $4,800 earlier this week cos of the mtts success I didnt have that much profit from the cash games, withdrew $250 just now cos i said i would on sunday.
The pot that made me in good profit was this, Q 10 in bb , $1/2 blinds, eearly position made it $7 to go, one guy called and folded round to me, so theres $17 in there I got to put in $5 , so im gettin 3 1/3 ish, not too bad odds usually its a clear pass but im invested and i could take a look cheap enuf so i call.
Flop, A K J. Rainbow, so im sittin on the nuts, I could fire out here but i think one of them has hit this flop hard so even when i check raise they might just shove in , so i check, he bets $5, the other calls, and i make it $20, he re raises $40 and the other guy goes all in! So i obviously call and am thnking im chopping it one of them. TUrn 10, river 2, we all show down, AA for ep riaser, AK for top 2 the otehr guy and me Q 10 :) . I got a bit of stick after for the call but what do i care when i just busted them.
I lost a little bit later with JJ when flop was AAx and i called a value bet on the end from A K. but apart from that had a sound session, prolly made around $300 , anyway im beginning to feel tired think i may have a nap or play some heads up on stars.

update

Welll since i came back from notts , I played every night and things have gone pretty well.
Other night I done the $55k and came 4th for $4,200 and last night i done the $25k and came like 38th for only $100 but 10th in the $55k for $530. So I am hopefully back on track with getting my roll up.
Just got to keep discipline, stick to my plan i got on stars and then I should see positive results, pretty much been my problem lately, pissing away winnings depositing on random sites and playin like an idiot.
